DPM 2010 with latest rollup (version 4.0.1920.0), running on Windows Server 2008 R2.
This is happening consistently since our file server backup expanded to require 5 tapes. When the verification runs, it fails on the 5th tape with "Cannot verify tape data". This happens each time but fails on a different tape each time, there's no way all those tapes could be bad. I've kept track and they've been reused successfully for other protection groups.
Detailed error info:

DPM encountered a critical error while trying to parse the contents of the tape Weekly-Files-00000904 (000013L3). This may be because the data on this tape is corrupt. (ID 24080 Details: Internal error code: 0x80990AA5) We're using a Dell TL2000 tape library. All other tape backups run fine and verification succeeds, it only fails for this one protection group. Tape colocation is on as well. |
