I have SC DPM 2012 Service pack 1 and HP 1/8 Tape Autoloader that is attached directly to my Server using SAS interface.
When I start Tape backup DPM write small amount of data and the Autoloader goes offline and it's missing in the device manager too.After rebooting the device it is showing at device manager .
After re-run the backup goes offline again.
We replaced the device with brand new.I think that somehow DPM shutdowns the device because of some errors .
HP LT&T can't see the device too when it is offline and only rebooting the devices fix the issue.
I did Read/Write test with the HP utility and it seems to be OK . It writes data and reads data on the whole tape
Is there any way (log) to verify why this is happening and fix the issue. We tried latest drivers , firmware and patches (well we missed Rollup Update 1 for DPM SP 1)
